What Makes You So Special?

I have heard children ask this of other children before - "what makes you so special?". While it seems they weren't meaning it in a very nice way, I think the question is a stellar one.

So, I will ask you - what makes you so special?

I am a big fan of keeping a success journal - you will hear me say this again and again. I think everyone should have one! So, right now, I want you to open up your success journal and write out a list of what makes you special. If you don't have a journal, jot it down on a piece of paper somewhere.

It can be amazing, silly, or seemingly small, but write it down anyway. Can you make the best funny faces? Can you balance on your hands? Do you have an amazing singing voice? Are you great at a sport? Do you take time to care for elderly parents? Do you teach children to try to reach their best potential? Anything, big or small, that you can do that makes you special.

Remember, there is only one you in this world. Only one person who has every single one of the things that makes you special, and the world wouldn't be the same without you. Next time you're having a challenging day, pull out your little list and remind yourself of your special gifts.
