The Message Required in All Relationships
I recently spent the weekend with my family, including my parents, to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday. As I relished in the enjoyment of the relationships I have with those around me, I tried to pinpoint just one reason why I have such great relationships in my life. A wonderful wife, amazing parents, great kids, excellent business partner and many people I am grateful to call my friends.
I realized there is one common message in all of these relationships. It is a message I try to share with them through my words, actions and body language, and it is a message I receive in return. I carry this message on, to my team, to my clients, and people I meet.
It's a message anyone can, and SHOULD, be sending. That message?
"You Are Important To Me"
For the next few days, be mindful of your words and actions when you're dealing with others, and ensure this is the message you are sending. Even if you feel the message isn't being given back to you, keep sending it out. Don't assume others know how important they are to you, take every opportunity to tell them, and show them, that what they say, do, and feel is important to you.
