Look for the "Awesome"

We pass people each day - in the halls at work, on the street, in the bakery at lunch - and we almost always greet them the same way.

"Hi - how are you?"

It's a standard cut and dry question that usually provokes the standard cut-and-dry answer of

"Fine, you?"

Don't shake your head, you know you do it too.

But - what if you changed it? What if you made a list of things that were good in your life. Actually, not just good: AWESOME. Every morning wake up and make your list of awesome things.

The next time someone says "how are you?"

answer "AWESOME!"

Say it with lots of enthusiasm.

Sure, some will nod and walk away as if they didn't hear you, but I would bet that some people will stop, turn to look at you and say

"Really? Why?"

And then you tell them. Tell them the awesome things off the list you made that morning. They don't have to be earth-shattering, they can just be little things you think are outstanding in your life.

They may laugh and not understand why you think normal everyday things are awesome, but I bet they walk away thinking you have a great attitude. If they talk to you more about your great attitude - share the awesome. Encourage them to look for the awesome in their life.

Days are not ordinary, dull and boring. There is awesome in each and every day, sometimes you just can't see it if you're not looking close enough.
