Learn Something New

Category:

What have you learned today that's new?

Today, when researching bar code information for my upcoming book, I learned that the first ever bar code was used on a pack of Wrigley's gum.

Is that a fact I'll ever need to know? Likely not. But I am the kind of person who loves learning little facts like that. I particularly love bugging my teenage daughter (who is afraid of spiders) about how many spiders she eats in a month while she sleeps.

On top of these little facts, I am also a person who truly believes that you must constantly be learning in order to grow. If you do not expand your wealth of knowledge, you will stagnate. You will often find me on the deck with a book, listening to an audio on a drive, or looking up facts online.

So, just like many parents ask their children when they arrive home from school  . . . what did you learn today?

If you're stuck, here is a couple more for you. :)

80% of your brain is made up of water. And . . . it is impossible to tickle yourself. It's true!

Make yourself a life-long learner, expand your mind every chance you get.
