Friday the 13th

Category:

Today is Friday the 13th. On my way in this morning the radio station I was listening to was talking about Friday the 13th, and all the myths & legends around it. One of the points they made about this day, was one I make about life in general every day.

You will find exactly what you are looking for.

In other words, if you wake up on Friday the 13th paralyzed by fear, expecting the worst to happen, waiting all day for bad things to take place - the chances are that you will look for bad things all day, just to prove to yourself that you were right.

The fact is, studies have actually been done that show statistically Friday the 13th is no more unlucky than any other day. For example - The Dutch Center for Insurance Statistics show that "fewer accidents and reports of theft and fire occur when the 13th of the month falls on a Friday." Their theory on this? People are more careful because they are expecting bad things to happen.

So, imagine we took those 17-21 million people in the United States alone who project their fears onto this day, and instead have them focus all their energy on looking for the GOOD things today. If you are one of those people, grab a piece of paper and spend all day writing down anything and everything good that you can find.

I truly believe that you find exactly what you are looking for. Not just today, but every day. If you find that bad things are always happening to you, maybe it's time to start looking for the good things instead. Do the bad things happen? Sure. But I bet if you really look for the good, you'll find at the end of the day those positive things far outweigh the negative.

Be safe, and have a very happy and uplifting Friday the 13th.
