"Failure is not an option"
I admit, I love a good quote. I find I can seek out brief moments of inspiration simply by taking the wise words of others.
Today, I was thinking of the "Failure is not an option" quote. I suppose that may have worked for the Apollo program, but how practical could it possibly be in real life?
Here's the thing I've noticed. Despite it's lack of practicality, a lot of people seem to live by this quote. Think about it. How often do you think people let their fear of failure get in the way of them trying something in the first place?
Probably more than you'd think.
Here's a fact for you, failing is a key factor to your success. If you're not failing, you're not pushing the limits of your comfort zone. If you're not expanding your comfort zone, you're missing out on some of life's greatest opportunities.
I challenge you to try something new. Expand your horizons. Failures shouldn't be seen as the "end", they should be soon as a learning experience. In each failure lies knowledge you need to try it again, but better. Each one is an opportunity to begin again more intelligently.
So, rather than drawing from the earlier quote, I'm going to leave you with this one - I think it is far more suiting.
"Failure is an option, fear is not." - James Cameron
Go out and fail forward!
