Celebrating Those Around You

I have to tell you a secret. I have a great team of people I work with. We laugh, we joke, we have fun, and we put out all the work we need to.

One of the best things we do as a team is celebrate those that are around us. Each Monday we get together and share our successes for the past week. We cheer each other on. We help each other through any challenges we are facing. We celebrate each other. It is an atmosphere I feel very lucky to be a part of, and to encourage.

It occurred to me the other day that the way we function is a lot like how other personal teams function. Friends. A couple. A family. Siblings. Parents & children. You know what I mean.

Imagine how powerful it would be if once a week you got together and discussed all the good things that you did in the last week. Or if you approached each other with challenges you were facing and worked together to find solutions to overcome them.

I can’t tell you how important it is to celebrate those around you. Take time as often as you can to not only hear the positives from others about themselves, but share with them how you feel as well. Look around at the people in your life and remind yourself what it is you celebrate about each of them.

Try it out for a bit, and see how it changes your perspective, and the reactions of people around you! Make a point to ask them once a week what successes they had that week, and make sure you take that moment to tell them anything you think they should be celebrating. Don’t miss a chance to cheer others on.
