7 Ways to Feel Good About Your Life
Throughout my travels I always seem to come across people who only look for the faults within their lives. They’re so busy focusing on the negatives that when something amazing happens to them; they miss it and can’t enjoy it because they struggle with accepting anything positive. You are a special individual and deserve to feel great about your life. When negativity makes an appearance, don’t let it take control, just remember these ways to feel good about your life, no matter what stage you are in.
So it starts today. No looking back, embrace your life and show everyone how good it is to be living the life you are.
1. Create a master list of all the things in your life you should feel great about. This list should be easily accessible at any time of any day. So when that fault sneaks up out of nowhere, revert to your list and be the positive person you are, attract the positivity and watch the success grow. Constantly be thinking how everything can contribute to your life, how you can make it better. Ground your confidence by having an attitude of gratitude.
2. Look for the opportunities; don’t let them look for you. Branch out and explore, meet new people, try new experiences, don’t give up on life. Make it a priority to expand your learning bubble and use that to pave a better road in your life. It is so easy to fall into a rut and get caught up in tired old routines. Challenge yourself to try something new every week.
3. In a past article we discussed our strengths and weaknesses. This carries on to this article, stop wasting your time focusing on the weaknesses and just carry on with life. You will overcome barriers much quicker if you’re not stuck focusing on what is wrong with you and your life. Start a journal and every night record something positive you did or accomplished. It doesn’t take long to get the good times rolling.
4. Always expect good things. If you have the attitude that only good things will come, then they will. Believe what you dream and it will happen. Become a positive magnet. Define what ‘good things’ you want in life and then imagine they are already in your life. Positive expectations bring about positive results.
5. Always take steps forward, don’t live in the past. If something is haunting you, chances are it’s holding you back. So cut all ties this moment and look forward. Fear and doubt can anchor you in the past. As the old saying goes, idle hands are the work of the devil. Worrying and stewing doesn’t change a situation…but action does.
6. So many times I hear about people complaining about the weather, how hot or too cold it is, the time of day, the outfit choice your co-worker is wearing. Why keep wasting time complaining about something you cannot change? Focus on the things in life you can change, your career path, your attitude, what you’re going to do this weekend. Continuously complaining is a bad habit and will hinder your ability to see great in yourself and in others. Start a new habit of finding good in your day.
7. And lastly, turn any negatives into something positive, for you and for others. Learn from your experience and offer your hand to others. Lift their spirits and help them feel good about their life as well. If you do something great for someone else, greatness will be returned on your doorstep.
Notice the pattern within these ideas? It’s all the small things we focus on that hold us back for such great achievements in life. Think of your life as a race, there are millions of people trying to get ahead of you, but you see that red ribbon and big gold trophy and you want it, that trophy is the peak of your life, the best moments you’ve experienced. You want it so bad that you pick up your speed and leave everyone behind you. Those people you’re racing against are the problems you’re fighting against. So start today, feel good about your life because there are so many things to feel good about. Don’t let anyone control you, no one should steer how you feel in life.
